ENLIGHTENMENT

After renouncing his princely life, Siddhārtha practiced extreme austerities and studied under renowned teachers like Ālāra Kālāma and Uddaka Rāmaputta.

However, he realized that neither indulgence nor self-mortification could lead to liberation. On the night of the full moon in Vaiśākha, he meditated under the Bodhi tree, determined to attain enlightenment.

Despite the challenges posed by Māra, the personification of mental impurities, Siddhārtha remained steadfast. Through Vipassanā, he experienced the ultimate reality of mind and matter, uprooting all causes of suffering and attaining Nibbāna. He became the Buddha, the enlightened one, and dedicated his life to sharing the path of liberation with others.
